Dr. Ranjana Srinivasan

Dr. Ranjana Srinivasan is a passionate and talented painter based in Mumbai, India. At 29, she has successfully combined her medical career with her love for art, bringing a unique blend of scientific precision and artistic expression to her work.

Dr. Srinivasan holds a degree in MBBS from MUHS, completing her medical studies at RGMC Thane. Currently, she is pursuing an MD in Pharmacology from GSMC and KEM Hospital Mumbai.

Artist Statement

Dr Ranjana discovered her passion for art in 2020 during COVID. It started as a place to retreat to find beauty when the world was becoming darker and uglier by the day. Now it has become something that nourishes her soul. She believes beauty can be found even in the most painful of times. She often gets inspired by the great masters of the surrealist movement such as Georgia O’Keefe, Dorothea Tanning and Frida Kahlo. Revolution, mental health and spirituality are major themes in her works.

This talented physician finds solace in the fine art of painting, crafting intriguing artworks that showcase her vast creative spectrum.Her artistry is characterized by a diverse subject range, from the mundane to the sublime, and a vivid color palette that dances across the canvas. Inspired by pointillism, her unique style weaves together tiny dots of color to form thought-provoking compositions that invite contemplation and reflection.These comments are by renowned artist Hanumanth Rao. The sculptures at P V Narsimha Rao’s samadhi have been done by him. In addition, he has held shows in India and abroad.
